The house was perfect. Plenty of comfortable beds and space for everyone. 3 full bathrooms. The screen porch was the best part of the house and we spent mornings and evenings there. The hot tub was well maintained and very clean. We had a wonderful time in Galena just a short 10 min drive away.

We had a great time here. It has recently been updated and redecorated.

Property was adequate. Bedrooms were very comfortable; our granddaughters loved the room with 3 beds. The hot tub was a treat on a cold night. The area was beautiful for walking.

One negative was that we did not have enough passes to the Owner's Club for everyone in our party even though I had indicated how many were coming. Also, we found toys, dried Play Doh and chewed gum under beds.

Visited during the week after New Years. The house location was perfect, secluded enough to have complete silence a brilliant view of the night sky. Close enough to make daily trips no big deal: To Chestnut for snowboarding, Around the area for several amazing solitary hikes with just us and the birds (so many birds!), Into town where some stores were closed for the season but plenty of great food and shopping experiencing were still to be had. House layout was great, hot tub was hot, beds were comfy. Would definitely rent again.

We loved the house we stayed in. The house was in great shape and clean. With all the bedrooms and bathrooms we had enough space to make everyone feel comfortable. I would highly recommend this house!

We loved this rental. It's a short drive to downtown Galena, yet felt secluded because of all the trees in the backyard. The kitchen was supplied with anything you could possibly need and there was wood for the fire pit outside. The hot tub worked perfectly. My group of 5 had no complaints!

The property was perfect in every way for this special family outing. Well maintained and perfectly provisioned for our needs.

The location was also ideal giving access to the beauty and facilities of the Galena Territory and the uniqueness of historical Galena.

The house is well designed for a group of 3 couples with children. The automatic outdoor lighting in front was very helpful on the dark nights. Kitchen had everything needed to prepare meals from scratch. Screen porch is the biggest we’ve seen. As is the case with all 3 story houses, it is impossible to achieve constant temperature on each floor.

Excellent Territories location for festivities in town. Very close to east side venues and downtown Galena. Home with 3 bedrooms/baths, great for families! Perfect location for our son’s wedding weekend. Hot tub was fun for everyone! Property manager was very responsive to our one need/glitch and it was resolved early-don’t hesitate to call Linda!

Overall I would recommend this property. Generally it was in great shape and clean. The best rooms were the living room, screened in porch, and kitchen area. Be careful not to lock yourself in the porch as we did. Thankfully one person wasn't in there or we would have been calling the security line to escape. My party consisted of 6 adults so we used all 6 beds. The twin beds were a bit uncomfortable to adults which may be more to do with our age versus the bed. My group thought all the mattresses were slightly uncomfortable, but again we are not spring chickens so to others they might be fine. The outlets were a bit of a mystery because some must be on switches. The air conditioner stopped working on the second day but they sent someone out to fix it at 11 pm once we realized it wasn't working. The kitchen was well equipped and bonus was a Keurig with k-cups. The living room was perfect for hanging out. The three bathrooms were nice for six women. Heads-up with the hot tub, it is really only ideal for 3 or 4 at a time, and they must have shocked it before we arrived. I would recommend taking the cover off for awhile before using it. The second day the chemicals were more tolerable. The positive is we knew it was clean, the negative is it was burning our eyes on the first night. It seemed like it was missing some cushions as well. We paid extra because there was a hot tub, so I had hoped we would have been able to use it more comfortably. Overall I thought this property was a great place to stay and I would recommend it with the precautions I have listed.

My 3 friends and I loved this rental house. Very comfortable and homey. Everything was very clean. After a busy day in Galena, we were happy to come back to the quiet of the rental house.

It was a once a year family vacation and it was wonderful. The house Wooded Retreat fit our needs perfectly. The management was wonderful and very responsive to any questions we had. We definitely stay there again.

First off, if I could give this rental 6 stars I would. They thought of everything you would need for a perfect stay. The kitchen was extremely stocked with everything you could think of. The hot tub was very large and hot. They also had towels for the hot tub (4) as well so you will not need any. The screened in porch was a great place to hang out and have dinner when it's warm outside. The fire pit was fantastic as well. All the furniture was very comfortable. The beds were excellent and had all the extra blankets if needed. I would definately stay there again if in town.

This rental was fabulous. We got way more than we bargained for. The host was simply great. Very communicative and quick to respond. The amenities were great. We loved the fully stocked kitchen. Home was cozy and welcoming.

We had a group of 8 stay at Wooded Retreat over the New Years weekend and the place worked out great for us. The four teens stayed in the 2 bedrooms in the basement and the adults in the master and upstairs bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped and the layout was great. We played a lot of air hockey & cards on the poker table and spent some time in the hot tub. We’ve stayed at several places over the years in the Territory and we all felt that this was the best one for our group and would definitely stay there again. This was our second rental with Vacation Homes of Galena and they’ve been great to work with.

This beautiful home was perfect for an after holiday stay near Galena. The accommodations were perfect for our family. I was very impressed by all of the supplies that were provided in the kitchen. Everything I needed to bake, cook, and feed my family of nine. I think we could’ve had Guests over and still had plenty of dishes. Our family had a wonderful time! We especially enjoyed the fireplace with firewood provided. We also took advantage of the poker/game table every night. The house was big enough to sit together and enjoy one another, and large enough to escape from one another when we needed some space.

This property was perfect for our girls weekend! We appreciated everything about this place!! Beautiful location, nicely stocked kitchen, and the new hot tub was an added bonus! We would absolutely stay here again and will definitely recommend it to family and friends traveling to Galena!

We had a wonderful time. The house was a pleasant surprise on our trip. We have been going on these trips for several years now, and this is one of the nicest places that we have stayed. It was extremely cozy, Clean, and welcoming. Several of the rooms are in the lower level, and we were concerned that we would be cold down there, but it was just as warm and welcoming as the rest of the house. There is also another small living room area down there, Which allows for different activities. We did not have any children but it would be wonderful for that as well.

This quiet, wooded retreat was the perfect spot for our family vacation. The home had everything we needed to enjoy Galena, including comfortable beds, room for kids to play, and an awesome hot tub with a view. The property manager was easy to contact when we had questions about our check-in process and I felt they communicated well from beginning to end. Would highly recommend!

We loved the open family room/kitchen/dining room, walked to the falls, and enjoyed the 3 seasons room! Also loves the quick response with any questions we had!

We rented this house for family members coming to Galena for a wedding, and it was just what we hoped it would be- clean, spacious, and close to all the wedding events as well as the lovely town of Galena!

The location is beautiful, the home itself is well equipped for my large family. The manager is attentive and helpful. The kids and adults loved the foosball/air hockey table. We had 9 people staying here and did not feel cramped and having twin beds is awesome for kids. There was plenty of games and toys for the kids and the back deck is like living in a treehouse! So many birds to watch! The only improvement I could suggest is the furniture on the screen porch is pretty worn out, and be careful on the stairs, the railings don't extend all the way and carpeted stairs are slippery. But a beautiful home, very quiet and peaceful.

We had an amazing time in this Galena rental. The house is very clean and bigger than the photos. We had plenty of space for 7 adults and a baby. The screened in porch was priceless to keep the mosquitoes away. Would definitely stay here again

Great home and location

The house was just right for our group. We especially loved hanging. out in the screened porch. The trees provided lots of privacy.

We were 6 1960s high school friends who enjoyed the clean house with plenty of space, bathrooms and privacy.

We absolutely loved staying at this beautiful home surrounded by nature. It felt very welcoming and was well stocked with everything we needed. It was seriously the cleanest rental home we have ever used. The surrounding community is really nice and it was a quick scenic drive to Downtown Galena. My only criticism is that it took us a bit to figure out how to work the main floor bathroom shower -- An instructional note or sign would be helpful. We hope to stay again in the near future!

We had a great weekend at Colony Lane. Colony Lane had everything we needed for our stay including equipment for the 1 & 2 year old kids along with toys and games for the older kids. We also loved the opportunity to use the indoor pool.

Our group of friends since junior high school days planned a getaway to celebrate birthdays and couldn't have chosen a better place than Galena! Our rental on Colony Lane in the Galena Territory was perfect..peaceful surroundings & fall colors were stunning. It was a short, easy drive to downtown for shopping & dining. The home was very clean & well maintained with beautiful decor. The main floor living-dining & kitchen space was great for gathering, and we all had plenty of space to ourselves with the 4 bedrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed. We highly recommend this location & Vacation Homes of Galena for their expertise & professional customer service!

This was the perfect house for our girl’s weekend getaway! Super clean, plenty of sleeping rooms for 8. Loved the screened in porch, too! Close to downtown events but had a country feel nestled in the trees. Definitely will rent this house again!

Early check-in was accommodated, which is great since we got there around 1:30 on Friday. The location was as advertised, clean and Vital Information easily accessible. House was just what we were looking for enjoy the weekend turn on looking forward to our next stay.

I loved everything about the house it was nice and clean. Very spacious and laid out. My only complaint was no TV’s in the bedrooms. Other than that I loved it and can’t wait to return for the summer in hopes of getting the same house.

The house was super clean and spacious enough. The scenery is beyond explanation. I would suggest better lighting out front but other than that it was gorgeous and perfect.

This was my first time renting a home for a vacation and I am so very glad that I found and booked this home! There was plenty of space for us both indoors and outdoors. It was so peaceful doing yoga on the screened deck and fun lighting the fire pit below. The home was very well stocked. Anything you could think of needing was there! We are already planning to come back in the spring and I'm crossing my fingers that this home will be available then. Thank you for making our first trip to Galena perfect!

3 clean full baths! Everyone got a nice bed and room—no one had to get the typical “undesirable” bed(s). Deck is surrounded by woods. Also enjoyed the large screened-in room for playing board games at night—mosquito-free! Loved this house. Bigger than it sounds from “cozy cottage” description!

There were 6 adults staying for the weekend and there was plenty of room. We loved the property as soon as we walked in. It is exceptionally clean,not cluttered and smelled very fresh! The house was very accommodating and had everything you could need. Well stocked kitchen! The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable. However i feel like the pillows were needing to be upgraded. They were flat and uncomfortable. All of us agreed on that. We had a little trouble with the tv and the remote was missing batteries.Those are just miner things. Overall this property is GREAT and we will defiantly stay there again we were very pleased!!!
