Nice place. Needs some finish touches.

The accomodations were great...having the 6 bedrooms baths were perfect for our group. We do have a concern that no shower bars in any of the bathrooms...one of our group slipped in the tub, fell out and had significant bruising. I had mentioned to Linda when I arrived and she said privately owned and was owners decision to not have them. Our friend stepped INTO tub and slipped on the soapy "tub decals". Just a thought that owners might like to look into this for future. Otherwise, everything perfect for us.

It was overall a good experience. The house was very clean. A little dark though. Some of the kitchen's lights didn't work. The pillows could be updated, and some of the blankets. Otherwise, the location was great! We would definitely stay again.

Very spacious home. We had a great time and enjoyed the hot tub. The house could have been cleaned better it was kind of dirty. Lots of dead bugs in the house.

Great family trip's staying.

The house while very spacious and open, needs a thorough cleaning and paint job. For a six bedroom house there were not enough wash cloths. I feel we pay a cleaning fee for a reason and for the overall price I would expect cleanliness. Dead bugs in the kitchen lights and windowsills.
I must say Linda was very responsive and helpful.

This was a return trip for our family. We noticed and were pleased with a couple of repairs and upgrades to the property, especially the deck!

Was a private and peaceful setting in a nice house with plenty of space for all. The amenities offered by the resort make this a location perfect for all ages.

What a beautiful home! We gathered with 3 other families and there was plenty of room for our kids to run around and for the adults to all have our own space. The property was gorgeous (I’m sure it’s really pretty in the fall!) and the amenities (hot tub, owners club access) were perfect for our group. My only complaint was that the cleaning could have been done a little better. For the nightly price we paid, I expected to not find dead bugs (ladybugs) throughout the house on the kitchen floor, on my bed pillow, and in the living room. I know you can’t help where they come from with the wooded location of the home but it seemed like it could have been taken care of in an easy sweep/vacuum. Overall we were thrilled with our stay and will absolutely be returning!

The Powderhorn Gap rental was just as it was described and shown in the VRBO listing. I was blown away by the bathroom in every room, this was especially perfect for the family's with small children! The kitchen was spacious, there was huge table for meals to fit all of us in a dining area and a good size table off the kitchen for gathering and game playing. The pool table, hot tub, game table and projector in the basement were nice additions and enjoyed by all (we did not use the weight room, but it looked well-kept and in good condition)! The only downside was the projector/dish in the basement was manual select channel (no channel guide available), otherwise it was a great space for kids and adults. The community pool and recreational center was awesome (not too far away) - a perfect way for the kids to burn off some energy! Overall, a 5-star review and I would highly recommend.

This is our second year at Powderhorn Gap. We met for a girl's weekend traveling from Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. The home is spacious and plenty of room for the eleven of us. The only complaint we had were the lady bugs in the kitchen area. I think that is just about the weather getting cold and they are coming inside to get warm. The home was clean, and the beds were comfortable,

Lots of space and amenities. Private bed and bathrooms for our group of 5 couples. Some minor problems with coffee makers, weak WiFi and slow drains.

Pleny of space, clean, great location

We stayed over the Fourth of July weekend - two families in the house and one that came for just the day to see everyone. Plenty of space and everything was in good condition/clean. Kids loved the pool table, hot tub, and movie room. It was too hot to play outside but the yard has plenty of space for games. Kids used the community pool as well. The kitchen was well stocked - we ate all of our meals at the house. Close enough to Galena to go in easily but far enough out to just relax.

We were a group of 11 friends who travel yearly for a long weekend. The house accommodated all of the couples very well with private bathrooms for each bedroom. There was plenty of space to spread out and all of the amenities we needed. The home was very clean and the property was beautiful! Our group especially enjoyed the space under the deck when we had a lot of rain in the evenings. We also appreciated all of the dining space.

Beautiful, clean home in amazing Galena. This 6 bedroom, 6.5 bath home easily accommodated our group of 7. The area is super scenic. We walked the quiet roads and even found a few trails. Nice fire pit area that was well stocked with wood. We'd certainly come back. Thanks!

Our family is scattered from Michigan to Iowa, so Galena is a good meeting place. The rental home had ample room for all 14 of us to sleep, eat, and play. We loved the hot tub and enjoyed the nearby hiking trails.

This was the perfect place for us to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary and our 40 year college reunion! Everyone had their own private full bath and bedroom. So many things to do in the area and great amenities included with the rental. Plenty of room for 14 adults to share fun memories and make new ones. Our only suggestion is to have two full size coffee makers available. We look forward to coming back to #3 Powderhorn Gap. Thanks for the wonderful accommodations!

We had a great time at Powderhorn Gap #3! The house was clean, spacious, and lovely. It was for my family and teacher friends for my retirement of 34 years of teaching. There was plenty to do on the territory as well as in the house, and in Galena. We could have spent a whole week. The price was great, too!

My family stayed at this home for a long weekend recently. We enjoyed the layout and privacy of the home! It is located in a beautiful, scenic area of Eagle Ridge. The night sky was awesome!

Clean and more than enough room for a large group. The hot tub was great and we loved that there was a bathroom for each room and large beds! The drive to galena isn’t great, but it was a nice area

Some things were broke/in need of repair. The owners club was great for the family to get rid of some energy. Overall my family had a great time.

We really loved the fact that each bedroom had its own bathroom, and also how big the kitchen, island, and 2 eating areas were. Also, the hot tub was a hit. As was the basement projector and screen, particularly for the home videos we brought and the kids electronic games.

The only issues we experienced were the following: internet was only so-so, the fridge was leaking (but we understand this to be fixed), and some of the drains were backing up (easy fix for owners to take care of).

Access to the club was great for the kids (pool, gym, etc). Access to the garbage drop off area was also convenient.

Very easy clean-up instructions. Loved that there were 2 coffee machines. Overall, great experience.

Had a long Thanksgiving weekend with family. Location of home is awesome. Quiet & peaceful.Great places to walk.

The house was great for size and number of bedrooms/baths for our size of family, considering we have six small grandchildren. Everything was quite clean. There was some sort of water leak inside the fridge which had gone into one of the bottom drawers and made it unusable since it couldn't be pulled out. Also a very large hole in dining room wall which we were told had been done by the group before us. Everything else was just fine and we will definitely stay again.

A group of 11 friends had a wonderful time in your beautiful home. We had lots of good conversation at the dining room table and around the fireplace. We also roasted marshmallows around the fire pit under a blanket of stars. A toilet issue was resolved within an hour by the attentive staff. It was a weekend to remember. Thank you.

We had three generations. Everyone had a great time. Nicely stocked kitchen. Clean. Younger ones enjoyed pool table and hot tub. I’d rent again.

Out of all the homes we have stayed in this one is my favorite! It has an open layout which is great when you have a large group. The privacy was also a plus. The WiFi was a little spotty but we have been to Galena enough to know that’s always a possibility. We are currently looking to book another trip here soon. Just one recommendation, the deck railing facing the hot tub needs some reinforcing. It’s a bit loose. Thank you so much !

We joined two other families with young children (ages 3-10) for a weekend escape in this house. It was perfect for us. The house had plenty of towels for the hot tub, the furnishings were nice but not so fancy that we worried every minute, and there was plenty of room to spread out. Beds were comfortable and kitchen was well equipped. We also enjoyed walking and running on the country roads through the idyllic scenery. The only complaint was that the coffee pot needs to be descaled!

Perfect amount of space for our family get together. My questions and communication with Linda was answered immediately. Enjoyed our weekend stay!!

We spent 4 days among friends (7 adults and 2 kids), it was a very nice environment with the backyard, the forest to walk, the hot tub. Spacious house with lots of rooms, kitchen well equipped, WiFi and TV system could be upgraded (quite hard to be all on the WiFi at the same time and TV hard to set up with DVD or WiFi, some hdmi cables were damaged)

The property was very nice just out dated and each bedroom needed a dehumidifier which added to noise while trying to sleep.

A wonderful relaxing family getaway

My family and I were very comfortable in this lovely home. The weekend we went was snowy and cold, so we loved having the fireplace. We had plenty of room to spread out and the kids enjoyed sledding in the backyard! It was a wonderful stay.

3 Powderhorn Gap was the perfect getaway for our family. Plenty of room for adults and kids to make memories. The 6 bedrooms with attached bathrooms was great. We enjoyed the large kitchen and the dining room table was great for games and eating together. The carpet in the dining needs replaced, otherwise everything was ok. We would definitely interested in renting again.

Everyone in our extended family met at this inviting home to spend the long Labor Day weekend together. We had plenty of room to spread out and enjoyed cooking meals together in the large kitchen. The kids enjoyed the game room and the adults enjoyed the hot tub. We were able to watch the Cubs game and the Iowa Hawkeye game, so we felt right at home. Everything was very clean and the beds were comfy. Check in and check out were super easy, and the trash/recycling facility is just down the road. The home had everything we needed for a nice, relaxing weekend. We'll definitely be staying here again!

The home was large and well layed out and fit our family's needs. Although the house was fairly clean, it did need some work. From the outside, it looked shabby. The yard was mowed, but in the landscaping the weeds were larger than the shrubs and it definitely needed paint inside and out. Some of the furniture and linens had seen better days. Great location and house, just in need of some TLC throughout!

Nice place. 6 bedrooms, each with its own shower/bathroom is wonderful. Hot tub is awesome. A little dated and shows some wear but overall worth the money. Landscaping needs a little TLC too.

We had a group of 12 and it was a very nice stay. The property had a lived-in feel, but definitely not run down. Kitchen was surprisingly well-stocked (some might say overstocked). Didn't have any problems with the mattresses like some of the previous reviews. The wifi comes off of satellite internet, so that wasn't so great. Thank goodness for hotspots.

We had a nice stay at Powderhorn Gap. Very pleased with the amount of bathrooms with the bedrooms. Great for a large group. The Eagle ridge area was beautiful. We enjoyed the privacy the house offered, but yet close to many activities.

Wanted a place to stay that could hold 12 adults and no one wanted a bunk bed. This place did that. The space between the living room, kitchen and dining room were perfect for our size group. Lots of wildlife to enjoy as well. Only critique, maybe time to update the mattresses and touch up the paint.

Very satisfied with our stay. We had 6 couples and all had their own bedroom and bath which is not easy to find!! Kitchen was well stocked. We were able to find plenty of serving platters, bowls, etc. Huge dining room table which enabled all of us to eat together. Enjoyed the big deck, watching a family of turkeys come and go each day. Side note - it may be time to replace some mattresses.

The house was perfect for 6 couples getaway for a weekend. The house was a bit worn but that's ok (puts less stress on you if you make a scratch/mark on something). We really enjoyed the large dining room table not only to eat meals together but also to play games. The house was well stocked. We appreciated the bathroom for each bedroom. Some of the couples thought that the mattresses on the beds were uncomfortable. I can only speak for the master bedroom and it was fine. The shower heads need replacing as the water pressure is decreased due to lime build up. We had trouble figuring out how to use the large projector screen in the basement but they came and got it going for us when we called them.

The house was very nice and big, enough for the entire family. It is in the BACK of the Territory. We had some issues but the management company came right out and fixed everything to our liking.

We stay in the Territory every October and have never stayed near the stables until this year. We absolutely loved it!!! This house has so much room! We never felt crowded and there was plenty for everyone to do. The girls loved the horseback riding. Be sure to check out the old school that’s a nice little walk away. It’s in a wooded area and the trees were amazing! It was ‘raining’ leaves. We would love to come back to this house next year.

My college roommates and I hold an annual reunion. This time it was in Galena. The house was big enough for six couples. We enjoyed our stay. No issues.

6 couples came together for our annual college reunion/get together. This house was perfect as we are all in our 60s and each of the 6 bedrooms have king or queen beds AND each had its own bathroom. The whole house was perfect for a group of this size and we made the most of practically every seating option available...dining room, deck, outdoor fire pit, living room/kitchen. It was ideal. Extremely well-equipped kitchen. There were a few minor items that could use some attention that have already been reported to the management company and I'm sure will be addressed promptly. Could've used clearer instructions on the use of the fireplace/TV. Only wish was that we could've stayed and enjoyed the home longer.

This house is more than spacious for 6 couples. All 6 bedrooms have ceiling fans and they each have their own bathroom. Plenty of room for all of us to sit and enjoy a nice dinner or to play some cards, domino's or board games. Would come back again, short distance from the town of Galena with lots of shops and food choices. Property was very clean.
Our group didn't use the hot tub since the outside air was a sauna! House could use some tender loving care but that is expected in a house rental.
Lots of pots/pans, ice maker worked great and all and all plenty of room for all of us. Enjoyed our visit and The Galena Territory is stunning. Swimming at the property pool was fantastic, very well taken care of and beautiful.

Every year, my extended family and I rent a VRBO home all across the Midwest for some family fun. This house was a wonderful fit for us! Plenty of space for everyone, and the Owner's Club was great for our teens. I loved the giant dining room table, and all the AV equipment was a good surprise. There was a lot of minor cosmetic things we noticed right away - carpets that weren't pulled tight, small holes in the wall and scratches in the paint, burns on the kitchen island, pans that should be replaced (teflon was chipping). Not so minor was the WiFi -- we had a hard time connecting and the signal was very weak. A good extender would be helpful. But, all of that was minor compared to the beauty and space that we had to relax and enjoy our time in Galena!

This home provided an ideal location for bringing kids and grandkids together for a 3-day reunion. The spacious dining and kitchen areas worked well, as did the large deck and yard. The basement with the pool table and second refrigerator was another gathering spot. The house is in close proximity to Galena, the Owner's Club and the Riding Stables. Very enjoyable.

Everything was perfect. The house had so much space. Very secluded and private, and very clean. We were there for a guys golf trip, so having this house about a 5 minutes drive from the General is fantastic. The management was very responsive and very helpful. We have stayed in other houses in the region, but from now on we are trying for this one first for all our trips.

We had a great time at 3 Powderhorn Gap. The home was perfect for our family of adults and grandkids (14 of us). It is a very spacious, clean home with large porch-perfect for blowing bubbles and watching yard games. Having access to the Owners club for exercising and swimming was an added bonus. Owners considerately had many beach towels available. We couldnt have asked for a better location or home for enjoying a family wedding. (And the kids immensely enjoyed Poopsies in downtown Galena - clerks were great)

As a gift to our parents the four of us kids, gave them a weekend away (with us!).
This house was perfect. Everyone had their own bedroom and there was plenty of space to cook, play games, and just hang out. My parents were so happy and by brother is already asking me to book again for next year!

We had a great time!! The house was clean and accommodating. Very spacious and the set up was perfect!!

Everything was great. The only issue was that the dishwasher was very finicky.

It was a very nice house. However, the treadmill did not work, & the top of the refrigerator was dirty as we were going to put a couple of items up there. Also the cover over the lights in kitchen had lots of bugs in it.

Great house and layout for a family gathering. Plenty of room to stretch out. The kitchen was great to work in, nice to have two refrigerators too. Loved the large table in the dining area for everyone to sit around together. Basement and hot tub were both nice bonuses with a cool fall weekend.

We used this space for a bridal shower family/friends weekend and it was perfect! The property was quiet and tucked into a beautiful wooded area. The house was clean and had plenty of space for everyone. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and abundance of storage spaces for food/personal items. We didn't have any special accommodations or requests, but there was plenty of information at our disposal on how and who to contact with any issues. I would definitely recommend this property - it felt like a home away from home!

the house was excelint,we did not like all the cigarette butts all around grounds. people that smoke don't care were thay throw there wast.

We enjoyed ourselves. The house was beautiful. There were some minor issues, but nothing to complain about. The staff was very helpful and a joy to work with. We would definitely visit again.

9 young 70 year olds had three days of fine meals, relaxed happy hours, great conversations and rest and relaxation in an ideal setting. Could not have been better.

The house was perfect for our family in regards to sleeping.
The only con about the area was there was the internet was spotty. So we couldn't stream movies and the dish only had like 4 channels. There were NO games/DVDs in the house---so make sure to bring your own if you want to entertain little ones at the end of the day.

We had several kids with us, which I thought could be boring since Galena is known for shopping etc.

We spent an entire day at Chestnut Mountain doing the activities there.
Sculpture Garden was really cool. We even met the gentleman that does the sculpting. We were there for probably an hour.
We hung out at the owners club in the pools etc.

It was perfect for a family reunion.

Our Church Ladies retreat was a success in part to this wonderful house! There was plenty of beds and sitting and dining space. The kitchen had everything we could have needed to make meals and serve all our ladies. We absolutely loved the scenery and the walking paths. The best part of our morning was as we were sitting on the deck talking, a hot air balloon passed right over us! Lots of activities to do near the house and a short drive to Galena. We would definitely book this house in the futures!
